Chicken Chilly Dry

Tired of curries & gravies? Try this dry Indo-Chinese chicken dish, mostly found in the Chinese food restaurants in India. You can replace the Chicken with Cauliflower or Paneer for a vegetarian twist to it!

Ingredients for Chicken Chilly Dry:

Marination Ingredients:

Boneless Chicken – 250 grams
Ginger Garlic Paste – ½ Tbsp
Red Chilli Sauce – ½ Tsp
Soy Sauce – 1 Tbsp
Cornflour – 3 Tbsp
Salt – ¼ Tsp
Black Pepper Powder – ¼ Tsp

Stir Fry Ingredients:

Green Onion bulbs – 2 sliced
Green Onions stalks – 2-3 sliced
Shallot – 1 cubed
Green Pepper – 1 cubed
Oil – 2 Tbsp + to fry
Garlic – 1 Tbsp finely minced
Ginger – 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
Green Chilly – 1 Tsp finely chopped
Vinegar – 1 Tsp
Soy Sauce – 2 Tbsp
Red Chilli Sauce – ½ Tsp
Black Pepper Powder – ¼ Tsp
Salt – ¼ Tsp

Method:

1.    Put boneless chicken pieces in a bowl. Add Ginger Garlic paste, salt, black pepper powder, red chilli sauce, soy sauce & cornflour. Mix well to coat each prawn.
2.    Heat oil in a wok on medium heat.
3.    Fry well until crispy brown. Set aside.
4.    Add finely chopped ginger, finely chopped garlic, finely chopped green chilly & green onion stalks. Sauté well for 1-2 minutes.
5.    Add diced shallots & diced green pepper. Sauté well for 1-2 minutes.
6.    Now add soy sauce, red chilli sauce, vinegar, black pepper powder, salt & fried chicken. Sauté well for 1-2 minutes.
7.    Now add Green onion stalks to finish.
8.    Stir & serve hot.
