Til Laddus/ Sesame Brittle Spheres

Til Laddus are really easy to make and are a delicacy during the kite flying festival known as “Makar Sankranti” in India.

Ingredients:

Sesame Seeds/Til – 1 Cup
Jaggery – 1 Cup
Cardamom Powder – ½ Tsp
Water – ¼ Cup
Ghee – 1 Tbsp

Method:

1.    Heat pan on medium heat and roast sesame seeds until fragrant, approx. 6-7 minutes.
2.    Remove in a plate and let it cool.
3.    Add jaggery to the same pan and keep stirring until jaggery melts on medium heat.
4.    Add ¼ Cup Water as stir well.
5.    Add Cardamom powder and stir well.
6.    Now add toasted sesame seeds and stir well.
7.    Keep stirring until it gets mixed well.
8.    Then add ghee, stir well.
9.    Remove mixture on a parchment paper, apply cold water to palms and make laddus while the mixture is still hot.
10.    Be careful not to burn yourself, applying cold water to palms is very essential.
11.    Laddus are ready to eat!
