Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish

Impress your Valentine this week with this extremely easy to make and delightful dessert loved by all.

Ingredients:

Frozen Puff Pastry – 2 sheets
Cream Cheese – 8 Oz
Sugar – ½ Cup
Vanilla Extract – 1 Tsp
Strawberry Jam – 2 Tbsp
Strawberries – 4-5 finely chopped
Egg – 1 + 1 Tbsp water beaten together
Powdered Sugar – for dusting

Method:

1.    Thaw frozen puff pastry sheets as per instructions on package.
2.    Preheat the oven to 400ºF and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
3.    Mix cream cheese with sugar and vanilla extract. Keep aside.
4.    Mix strawberry jam with finely chopped strawberries. Keep aside.
5.    Cut pastry sheet into heart shapes using heart shaped cookie cutter.
6.    Lightly score a heart inside each cut-out heart shaped pastry.
7.    Spread Cream Cheese within the scored area on the hearts.
8.    Top it with strawberry mixture.
9.    Whisk an egg with 1 Tbsp water and brush the edges of the pastry with eggwash.
10.     Bake the danishes for 14 to 15 minutes until golden and puffed.
11.    Remove the danishes from the oven, cool on wire rack, dust with powdered sugar (optional) and serve.
