Mumbai Style Pav (Mumbai style dinner rolls)

I have tried many recipes for making Mumbai style pavs but this is the best recipe I’ve tried from a fellow bloggers blog. She created a magical recipe and I had to recreate it in my kitchen. Her recipe link is given below:

Ingredients for Pav:

Warm Water – 1 ¼ Cup Water (295 ml)
Sugar – 2 Tbsp
Dry Yeast – 1 pack (2 ¼ Tsp) (7 grams)
Unsalted Butter – 3 tbsp
All Purpose flour – 3 Cups
Salt – 1Tsp
Some butter and flour for greasing and dusting the pan

Method:

1. Add warm water to a bowl. Now add dry yeast and sugar. Mix and let it rest for 5 minutes.
2. After 5 minutes, add melted unsalted butter and all purpose flour and knead together to form a sticky dough. Add salt as well.
3. Knead well; this is an important step to develop gluten.
4. Grease a bowl with some butter. Cover and let the dough rest in the greased bowl for one hour.
5. After an hour, you’ll see the dough has doubled in size.
6. Knead the dough again for a few minutes.
7. Meanwhile grease and dust a baking tray with flour.
8. Divide the dough into 10-12 equal parts and arrange the dough balls in the greased and dusted baking tray leaving about 1 inch space between each dough ball.
9. Cover the baking tray and rest for about 45 minutes to an hour.
10. Bake in a preheated oven at 230°C or 450°F for about 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
11. Brush the pavs with some unsalted butter.
12. Cool completely on a cooling rack.

Happy Cooking! 🙂
