Tiramisu

Imagine your whole body relaxing, to the point where your eyes automatically close, to enjoy all the texture and flavor magic of Tiramisu in your mouth. There are a lot of recipes out there for this Italian dessert, but you only need one to fall in love with as you did for the very first time. Summer, Winter, Fall, or Spring, no matter what the world or life throws at you, there will always be … Tiramisu.

Ingredients for Tiramisu:

Egg yolks – 5
Sugar – 1 Cup
Water for double boiler – 1 Cup
Instant Espresso Coffee – 3 Tsp
Water – 1 ½ Cup
Heavy Whipping cream – 500 ml
Vanilla Extract – 2 Tsp
Mascarpone – 500 grams
Savoiardi Ladyfinger – 48 nos
Coffee Liqueur/ Brandy – 2-3 Tbsp (Optional)

Method:

1. Separate 5 egg yolks.
2. Create a double boiler – Set a heatproof bowl over a pan with simmering water. The bottom of the bowl should not touch the water.
3. Whisk egg yolks & sugar until creamy. Set aside.
4. Make coffee: Heat water & add instant espresso powder. Bring it to a boil & keep aside.
5. Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks are formed.
6. Now add mascarpone & egg yolk mixture to the heavy cream & mix well. Keep aside.
7. Add Coffee Liqueur/ Brandy to the coffee & mix well.
8. Use a 9-inch baking pan for assembling.
9. Dip ladyfingers in the coffee mixture & lay them in the baking tray. (A quick dunk in coffee should be good.)
10. Now pour half the heavy cream, mascarpone & egg yolk mixture & spread around covering all the ladyfingers.
11. Add another layer of ladyfingers dipped in coffee.
12. Pour the remaining heavy cream, mascarpone & egg yolk mixture & spread evenly.
13. Cover with a plastic wrap & refrigerate for at least 8 hours or 24 hours.
14. After 8 hours, remove the plastic wrap.
15. Dust it with unsweetened cocoa powder.
16. Cut a piece & serve cold!
