Chicken Curry

Why go to a restaurant where you would have to pay for something you make at home. This recipe though a little involved will have people showering you with compliments. After the first few morsels, you know you are going to be giving those restaurants a run for their money.

Ingredients for Chicken Curry:

Chicken with bone – 2 pounds small pieces
Onion – 1 ½ Cup finely chopped
Oil – ¾ Cup
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 3 Tbsp
Turmeric – ½ Tsp
Garam Masala – 1 Tsp
Coriander-Cumin Powder – 1 Tbsp
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Lemon – ½
Water – 1 ½ Cup

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan on high flame for a minute.
  2. Add finely chopped onions and a pinch of salt for faster cooking.
  3. Cook until translucent, approx. 5 minutes.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix well.
  5. Now add Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Coriander-Cumin Powder, Garam Masala, Turmeric and Salt, mix well.
  6. Add chicken pieces and mix well.
  7. Add water, cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
  8. Once chicken is cooked, add lemon juice and chopped cilantro.
  9. Serve hot with plain rice and or chapatti, phulka!
