Why go to a restaurant where you would have to pay for something you make at home. This recipe though a little involved will have people showering you with compliments. After the first few morsels, you know you are going to be giving those restaurants a run for their money.
Ingredients for Chicken Curry:
Chicken with bone – 2 pounds small pieces
Onion – 1 ½ Cup finely chopped
Oil – ¾ Cup
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 3 Tbsp
Turmeric – ½ Tsp
Garam Masala – 1 Tsp
Coriander-Cumin Powder – 1 Tbsp
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Lemon – ½
Water – 1 ½ Cup
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan on high flame for a minute.
- Add finely chopped onions and a pinch of salt for faster cooking.
- Cook until translucent, approx. 5 minutes.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, mix well.
- Now add Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Coriander-Cumin Powder, Garam Masala, Turmeric and Salt, mix well.
- Add chicken pieces and mix well.
- Add water, cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
- Once chicken is cooked, add lemon juice and chopped cilantro.
- Serve hot with plain rice and or chapatti, phulka!
