Mutton Curry

Why go to a restaurant where you would have to pay for something you make at home. This simple recipe will have people showering you with compliments. After the first few morsels, you know you are going to be giving those restaurants a run for their money.

Ingredients for Mutton Curry:

Mutton(boneless or bone-in) – 500 grams small pieces
Onion – 2 small finely chopped
Potato – 2 small wedges
Oil – 3 Tbsp
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 Tbsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 Tsp
Garam Masala – 1/2 Tbsp
Coriander-Cumin Powder – 1 1/2 Tbsp
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
Malwani Masala (Optional) – 1 Tsp
Salt – 1/2 Tbsp
Water – 1/2 Cup + 1/2 Cup + 3 Cups

Method:

1. Heat oil in a pan on high flame for a minute.
2. Add finely chopped onions and a pinch of salt for faster cooking.
3. Cook until translucent, approx. 5 minutes.
4. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix well.
5. Now add Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Coriander-Cumin Powder, Garam Masala, Turmeric Powder and Malwani Masala, mix well.
6. Add 1/2 Cup water, mix well.
7. Add mutton pieces and mix well.
8. Add 1/2 Cup water, sauté well. Add potatoes and mix well
9. Add 3 Cups water, cover and cook for 60 minutes or until meat is tender on medium flame
10. Once mutton is cooked, add chopped cilantro and mix well.
11. Serve hot with plain rice and or chapatti, phulka!
